Neighborly Love
Tonight, we are "those" neighbors. As I am standing outside on the deck catching up with the neighbor, I hear her start laughing. I hold my breath and turn around.......................
There is Ella. Standing on the deck. Bent over. Bare butt. Facing us. Trying to pull up her pants.

Time for a check-up!
Today, Erin had her 2 month appointment. I am scheduling her in Denver now, as I do not see a need to visit our NICU doctor anymore! The staff absolutely loved her. Erin was in the most smiley/chatty/giggly mood I have EVER seen her!
You may remember on July 16th, I posted Erin was 12.6 lbs,
10 days later, she weights 13 lbs 11.5 ozs. She has seemed a lot heavier, longer, and hungrier so it is fun to hear that!!
Other doctor appointment notes:

Other doctor appointment notes:
- 43rd percentile in weight
- 30th percentile in height
- 3 vaccinations that Peanut did not care for
Is it me, or are the pictures of E&E together just getting more awkward?

Another Week
It's time to close the books on a very crazy week. I finally had a few hours to catch up on book work for my Dad, and was ill the rest of the week. Derek also celebrated his 27th birthday with a family dinner and a night out with friends. His big ticket gift (which a lot of people contributed to) was a tree stand.
While we are still trying to get into a routine of things, it is becoming a little easier to get us to the places we need to be.
The grand finale to the week was a VERY messy surprise by this innocent little peanut. In the words of Derek, "Holy blowout city!"

Reality is Setting In
Tomorrow (Friday) is my first day back to work. I have been spoiling these little girls like crazy for the last two days trying to enjoy the time with them!
For Ella: we've gone on a few walks, played at a couple parks, made 1 trip to the library, had a lunch date with Derek, enjoyed warm muffins for breakfast, had a play date with Jada & Missy, and a trip to get ice cream this afternoon!
For Erin: she's been given lots of extra snuggle time and play time. :)
What I am going to miss the most is letting them both sleep in our bed with me for an hour or two once Derek leaves for work.
On the agenda tomorrow: Getting all three of us out of the house by 7am!

Happy Meal
"I want a Happy! I want a Happy, Daddy! I want a Happy! I want a Happy, please!"
(Ella yelling incessently at the top of her lungs up to the front seat as we're going through a drive-thru...she likes Happy Meals just a little bit....)

First Harvest
First vegetable out of the garden... we have jalepeno peppers!
Ella didn't want to get dirty, so she held the bowl while Derek filled. :)
Later that night, Derek let Ella smell a jalepeno pepper. She went to bed with a red nose and lips, saying "my mouth is spicy!"

Growth Spurt
I'm pretty sure our little peanut is going through a growth spurt. Erin is eating constantly and acting just a little off from her normal self. And she is 6 wks old, which is a pretty common time for a growth spurt!
Our Little Firecracker
We took a chance and took the girls to fireworks. There were many reasons we shouldn't of, but we did it anyway. It was way past bedtime. Erin would need to eat during the show. Ella has always been afraid of fireworks....
But in an effort to overcome Ella's fear of loud noises, I thought it would be good to expose her to fireworks again. So we packed up and headed over to Shell Rock.
As we were waiting for the show to start, we watched people shooting off their own fireworks. Someone who parked next to us shot one off. Ella asked about 10 times:
"That not gonna happen again, right?"
We laughed thinking the show hadn't even started yet. Once the show started, Ella watched very carefully. She saw a huge one light up in the sky and asked, "That not gonna come bite my leg, right?"
She made it about 5 minutes into the show and fell asleep on Derek's shoulder. I think either her anxiety made her sleepy or she wasn't bothered by the fireworks anymore. Erin, however, stayed awake through the fireworks and the entire ride home!

More Big Words
(Ella getting dressed, trying to put her shirt over her head)
Me: "Ella? Do you need any help?"
Ella: "No, I'm not struggling!"
LOL!
